You might remember these two from their Garfield Park engagement session. Naomi and Chris had their Sarabande Chicago wedding in April and I am still salivating just thinking about the food spread that they had. With Naomi’s background in nutrition science, what else should I have expected. From the Chinese tea ceremony to the homemade ice cream instead of a cake cutting to a nostalgic cocktail hour food spread, every detail of the wedding was so uniquely them. They were wed by Chris’ pastor growing up and made time for themselves to have prayer and communion during the ceremony. The reception space roared with cheers as Naomi and Chris entered the room, smiles abound and high fives were given. Food trucks served fresh delicious pizzas and tacos. As the evening transitioned into dancing, Naomi and Chris danced with one another before dancing with their father and mother, respectively. The dance floor came alive as K-pop songs started getting played and Chris led some of the choreography before they ended the night with late night instant ramen.

Sarabande is one of Chicago’s newest wedding venues, part of the Ovation group, you know you’ll be in good hands when hosting your wedding here. They have both an outdoor patio and vast indoor space that can cater just about any needs that you have.

If you’re planning your own Chicago Illuminating Company wedding—or a wedding anywhere in the city—my approach is simple: I’ll guide you when you need it, but for the most part, I’m paying attention to what’s already there. The in-between moments, the way things actually felt. If that resonates with you, I’d love to connect with you.
