The ever-changing beauty of the desert has always intrigued me. The shifting in the grains of sand as the wind sweeps across each dune. The barrenness of the landscape seemingly to hold its breath when the wind stops. It was such a surreal moment for Anne & Ming to see such a vast otherworldly scene as we climbed up the sand dunes for this desert inspired elopement.
Of course, living in the Midwest means there are no deserts within reasonable driving distance. However after seeing this session by Eastlyn Bright, I was immediately brainstorming about doing a desert inspired session at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan. We spent the morning at our Airbnb, catching up and diving deeper into their relationship. As we arrived at the dunes, the sun was beginning to set and the temperature started to get chillier. Anne and Ming were troopers for braving the freezing temps without jackets. It was an immense joy to be a part of their lives and seeing how their relationship has changed from dating to engaged to married. Thank you both for letting me document and create these special memories for years to come.
