During my mentorship with Robert J Hill, we photographed this styled Smith Rock elopement which also happened to be a real vow renewal for Jessie and Chad. Even though this was styled, the emotions and love felt between the two of them was as real as can be.
When I think of Oregon, my mind immediately thinks of snow capped mountains and lush green forests. However located 3 hours southeast of Portland in central Oregon lies Smith Rock State Park with its tall cliff and desert like landscape that makes you feel like you left Oregon and traveled to Utah. If you are planning to have your elopement or wedding at Smith Rock, you will have to contact the State Park manager to obtain a permit. With average high temperatures ranging from 40 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, there really isn’t a bad time to go get married at Smith Rock. With just a short walk from the parking lot, there are dozens of picturesque locations for your ceremony, perfect for families that have accessibility needs.
If you and your partner are interested having me photograph your elopement, contact me and let’s get the conversation started! I’d love to hear what you are envisioning.
